Training Tracking System

The LION Report Tool includes a training tracking system to record and monitor professional development activities.

Recording Training Activities

  1. When creating a journal entry, you'll see a "Did you do any training yesterday?" checkbox
  2. If checked, an expanded section will appear to capture:
    • Training time (hours/minutes)
    • Training description and notes
    • Related skills or certifications
  3. Save your journal entry, and the training information will be stored separately

Training Logs

All recorded training activities are stored in a dedicated training log that provides:

  • Complete history of all training activities
  • Total training hours by category
  • Training trends over time
  • Reports for management review

To access your training logs:

  1. Navigate to the Journal section in the main menu
  2. Select "Training Logs" from the dropdown
  3. View a complete history of your recorded training

Important Notes

  • The training option will be hidden once recorded until the next day
  • Training logs can be exported for performance reviews or certification documentation
  • Managers can view training summaries for their team members

Analytics and Reporting

The system provides analytics based on your training records:

  • Total hours invested in professional development
  • Breakdown of training by category or skill area
  • Month-to-month training comparison
  • Progress toward training goals or requirements

For Managers

If you're a manager, you'll have access to additional features:

  • Team-wide training summary and analytics
  • Individual training reports for each team member
  • Ability to set and track training goals
  • Comparison of training activities across the team

Best Practices

  1. Record training activities consistently, even short learning sessions
  2. Use clear, descriptive titles for training activities
  3. Include specific skills gained or improved in your descriptions
  4. Track both formal training (courses, webinars) and informal learning
  5. Review your training log periodically to identify learning patterns and gaps
